Goodyear Airport

Based in the United Kingdom, CTC Aviation Group will be landing at the Goodyear Airport this spring and investing approximately $7 million in its new pilot training program.  CTC works with more than 50 major airlines world wide and is cooperating with Lufthansa Flight Training who already has a pilot training program underway at the Goodyear Airport.  CTC will be filling the void left by the Oxford Aviation Academy, who moved over to Mesa October of last year.  Since CTC is moving into an existing facility, most of their initial capital will go towards aircraft and modifications to the existing office space.  CTC is hoping to train roughly 200 pilots annually.

The economic impact of CTC’s new pilot training program could be in the millions.  The Goodyear Airport currently has a total economic impact of $138 million.  The airport currently performs maintenance and repairs on large bodied planes, serves as a flight training center and is a reliever airport for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.  With local business activity expanding, corporate officials from businesses like the Wigwam Resort, Dicks Sporting Goods and Cancer Treatment Centers of America are creating a demand for corporate jet travel.  Not only will CTC bring new jobs to Goodyear, Arizona, since CTC is a Global Aviation company, the outlook is bright for an influx of international business to Goodyear.
